Odour in STP
Most of the new sewage treatment plants (STPs) are built in Building Basement area. The whole facility will be enclosed in a single building. The STP system is a combination of: Pre-treatment,primarytreatment,secondary(biological)treatment & tertiarytreatment.
So why Smell:
There is a wide spectrum of possible inorganic and organic molecules, which can create unpleasant Odours. The most common are hydrogen suphide, ammonia, sulphur compounds, mercaptans, amines, aldehydes, ketones etc.
Hydrogen Sulphide and Ammonia are two main parameters restricted by regulations. The concentration of H2S found in the exhaust air of Sewage Treatment Plant is in the range of 5 - 15 ppm. Threshold limit of H2S = 0.002 - 0.15 ppm The emission level for ammonia is typical in the range of 50 to 150 ppm. Threshold Limit For NH3 is = 5 ppm
Here Aqozone De Odour Ozone is dosed into the ducts of the STP chamber either carrying the fresh air or the exhaust air depending on the requirement of the customer. Our engineers visit the site and understand the layout conditions and submit the observations like area and the specification of the blowers used to our design team. A separate In house design team makes the calculations of the Ozone dosage required based on the specifications of the blower installed.
The engineers then inject the Ozone into the ducts precisely and ensure the odour is reduced by 90% and also killing the virus, bacteria’s in the air of the exhaust or inside the STP room.

The waste water after being treated by technologies like ASP, SBR, MBBR, DEEWATS etc has a color and a smell in the final treated water even after the chlorine dosage.
